Bridges Overview

 Bridges Membership Options:

  • Weekly Classes: Each student attends six, 30 minute classes. The first class is “homeroom” for students to socialize with their friends, while parents attend announcements in the hallway. Each additional class is educational instruction time. This membership includes all ECM activities. Each family must submit an approved application, background check fee, and signed waivers.
  • One great thing about our weekly classes is there will never be more than 10 kids per class! While the number of students in that age range of children may be larger than 10, they will always be divided into small, manageable classes. We love to keep class sizes smaller for more hands on experiences!
  • Extra Curricular Memberships (ECM): This option is available to those who cannot attend weekly classes. This membership allows your family access to our private Facebook group and emails with information regarding Field Trips, Mom’s Night Out, Pre-Teen and Teen activities, Class Parties, ect. Each family must submit an approved application, background check fee, and signed waivers.

Fees:

Bridges is a non-profit organization. All fees collected are used to keep the co-op running.

  • Weekly Classes: Each term fee will be different due to rent being calculated by number of people using the building. Our cost calculation for the term is rent + insurance, divided by number of students attending each term. Currently our price range is about $60-85 per student. The more families we have, the less the fee price per student.

    • Class fees: Each teacher is able to charge a fee that goes directly to the teacher to help cover supplies of the class. These are generally under $5 per class. We know it adds up fast, so we try to keep fees as minimal as possible.

  • Extra Curricular Memberships: ECM fees are charged $20 per family, per term.

    • Field Trips, Class Activities, MNO’s, ect: Often these activities will have an RSVP fee to either pay for admission, or cover costs of supplies for events. These fees will be minimal, and are due near the event date. These fees are your RSVP to an event and non-refundable. Applications for ECM are accepted year round

Parent Involvement and Expectations:

  • All Memberships: We are asking that each family help to either plan, host, or arrange one event per term. This includes class parties, MNO’s, field trips, activities, ect. You are welcome to host it at your home, a park, local facility or wherever you are comfortable with. This is a true cooperative, we cannot offer activities and events without help.

  • Weekly Classes: One background-approved parent must be able to teach one 30 minute class for 12 weeks. If it is not your assigned teaching time, you will be assigned as a 2nd adult in another classroom or a float. You must notify a board member when you will be missing, and who your sub will be.

  • We know teaching is scary to some, but we promise, it’s not that bad! The best class to teach are topics you are passionate about, interested in, or interests of your kids (if you want to teach classes with your children in them). Classes can be as simple or as complicated as you would like. It’s only 30 minutes each week!

    • Previous class ideas: Lego building, Storytime, ABC letter books, Math games, Card Making, Yoga, Geography, Health and Nutrition, Game Design, Critical Thinking, Nature Studies, Flat Stanley, Journalism, ASL,ect.

  • ECM: All extra curricular activities attendance is optional. We would love to have your family involved, but life happens! Join us when it fits your schedule.

  • This is not a drop-off program. Parents must stay on site for all events with the exception being Teen Activities (if that is what you are both comfortable with).
